Gangneung History, Market Flavours, and Coastal Cafe Street

Get picked up from your hotel and travel to Ojukheon in Gangneung, Gangwon Province, where Shin Saimdang and her son Yi Yulgok, the great Confucian scholar of the Joseon dynasty, were born. They both appear on South Korea's banknotes: Shin Saimdang appears on the 50,000 won note, and Yi Yulgok appears on the 5,000 won note.
Explore Jungang Market, a great place to taste local and fresh food. For food lovers, it is a must-visit destination.
Enjoy a delicious lunch at a restaurant, then continue to Seongyojang, where tired travellers can relax for a while after lunch. Seongyojang is a traditional Korean house that is now a museum, making it a great place to learn about Korean architecture and culture.
Visit Anmok Beach Cafe Street, a popular dating spot for young people. It is known as one of the most beautiful coffee streets in Korea. In the fall, a coffee festival is held here, and because the coastline is straight, a drive along it offers views of several tourist spots at once. Enjoy a cup of coffee with a view of the ocean.
