Know Before You Go

Amboseli and Nakuru are year-round destinations, but the dry season (June–October and January–February) offers the best game viewing.

Amboseli is hot and dry, while Nakuru in the Rift Valley is cooler, especially in the mornings and evenings, so layered clothing is recommended.

Game drives increase the chances of seeing the Big Five, but wildlife sightings are not guaranteed as animals roam freely in the wild.

Carry insect repellent to protect against mosquitoes, and consult your doctor about malaria prophylaxis before travel.

Safari vehicles have a pop-up roof for better photography and viewing, and roads can be bumpy, so pack comfortably.

If visiting a Maasai village, respect local customs and always ask before taking photos of people.

Wi-Fi and mobile network are limited in the parks, so embrace the wilderness experience.
