• Depart by road, driving east of Nairobi across the Athi Plains to Tsavo West National Park.

• The highlight is the famous Mzima Springs, where over 200 million litres of crystal-clear water flow from porous volcanic rocks. The water is believed to originate from the Chyulu Hills via an underground river and serves as the water supply for Mombasa City, 250 km south of the location.

• Amboseli National Park is situated directly south of Nairobi and consists mostly of a dry, ancient lake bed and fragile grassland with patches of acacia woodland. To the south lies Mt. Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest mountain, which can be seen clearly in good weather conditions.
• The swamps around Ol Okenya, Ol Tukai, and Enkongo Narok feature lush vegetation with yellow-barked acacias and phoenix palms. Expect to see lions, elephants, giraffes, buffalos, zebras, wildebeests, and hippos.
