Petra Tour
Meet and get assistance on the port from your Petra tour guide.
Drive for about 2 hours by the Kings' highway, including a short break for looking over the view of Petra mountain and the Araba mountains (taking photos).
Arrive at the Petra visitor center, using the facilities there and meet your guide.
Start from Petra visitor center, where you can use facilities there because it will be long until the proper bathroom facility. From there, you will have your tickets and your local (Jordanian) guide will take you through the gate on your way down to Siq (narrow gorge). You will see the Dijon blocks and the Big monument of Obelisks tomb. The most amazing will be the walk through the narrow gorge of Siq extended for more than one kilometre with its beautiful different colours and really rock formations. The most amazing and breathtaking moment will be when you see the most famous facade of Petra, the Treasury, where you will spend about 20 minutes enjoying that massive monument and taking pictures.
Continue down through Facades Street or facade to see tombs of different sizes and the steps leading to the high place of sacrifice.
See the main theatre of Petra carved out of rocks, while on the other side, you will see caves carved out of rocks with their colourful ceilings.
Explore the Collection of Royal Tombs, which could be one of the hiking options on the way back.
Find yourself in the Roman area, which includes Nephewuim, collonaded streets and remains of temples (Great Temple and Winged Lions Temple) beside Byzantine churches that would end this tour at Kaser Al bint the only free-standing building left.
If you will have time to make your way back to the visitors center, and if you have the time and energy, you can go for 2 hours, both ways hiking up to The Monastery, which comes after the Treasury for its natural beauty. The way back to the gate (visitor's center) could take about 1.5 hours.
Proceed to the restaurant for lunch (open buffet style).
Drive back to the port.
