The myth of Travels

The name Travel (vjaddʒo in italian) derives from the Provencal “viatge”, which in turn comes from the Latin “Viaticum”, a derivative of way.Viaticum in Latin was the necessary for the journey, and then passed, later, to signify the journey itself.

Myth from the greek mythos means story, narrative of the adventures and passions of heroes and gods, our goal is to make you retrace back over the places and emotions that make you part of the myth.Journey, should be understood not only in a concrete and realistic way (shift in space and time) but also in a symbolic sense of desire, power and knowledge of research and – conversely- of exile, loss, removal of oneself and of the dearest possessions.There is a work of literature that summarizes all times - perhaps in full - the concrete and symbolic meanings related to the theme of the travel: the Odyssey of Homer.The journey of Odysseus is a return trip (nostos), from the trojan war to his native Ithaca, the home abandoned and, refound with his wife Penelope and his son Telemachus.So the journey comes for circle (depart, path, arrival and return), where the final goal is the achievement of a purpose (the reunion, the final reconquest of stability around the original values).But immediately, carefully reread the story of Odysseus, it is noted that the trip can not only consist of entering in the final port, but rather in overcoming many dangers, obstacles, testing and verification of a thousand experiences.The journey becomes a test of knowledge, in the broadest sense of the word.It is the natural urge to search for the new, the instinctive attraction / repulsion for what is foreign to us, the measure of the distance that separates us from the unknown realities, the challenge by comparison, the ability to relate to the different from us, the ability to adapt to unpredictable situations.This site was created to propose and collect proposals and suggestions of all those who do not like to be called tourists but travellers.
