Itinerary

1. Day 1: Arrival in Bhopal – Gufa Mandir and Upper Lake Visit

   • Arrive at Bhopal Railway Station or Raja Bhoj Airport.

   • Transfer and check-in at your hotel.

   • In the afternoon, visit Gufa Mandir in the Lalghati area.

   • Explore the sacred Shiva cave shrine, believed to be established by Sant Gopaldas Ji Maharaj.

   • Experience the peaceful temple complex inside a natural cave and enjoy the scenic viewpoint.

   • In the evening, visit Upper Lake (Bada Talab), the oldest man-made lake in India.

   • Enjoy a boat ride or paddle boat and explore the scenic viewpoints.

   • Optional walk through Van Vihar National Park or Kamla Park.

   Overnight stay at your hotel in Bhopal.

2. Day 2: Bhimbetka Rock Shelters and Bhojpur Temple

   • Have an early breakfast at the hotel.

   • Depart for Bhimbetka Rock Shelters (approximately 45 kilometers / one hour drive).

   • Spend the morning exploring Bhimbetka Rock Paintings, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

   • Discover over 750 prehistoric rock shelters nestled in the Vindhya hills.

   • View cave paintings dating back over 10,000 years depicting hunting scenes, animal motifs, rituals, and dancing.

   • Learn about early human settlements, ancient tools, and tribal cultures.

   • Optional stop at Bhojeshwar Temple in Bhojpur on the return journey.

   • Visit the massive Shiva Lingam, one of the largest in India, set in a scenic location along the Betwa River.

   • Return to Bhopal Railway Station or Raja Bhoj Airport for departure.
