Old City of Jerusalem
Start at the Jaffa Gate and, after a look at the new city, walk towards the Zion Gate and Mt. Zion where we visit David's tomb and the room of the last supper.
Head to the Jewish quarter and the Roman Cardo. Upon request, we can visit the nearby Hurva synagogue and hear its fascinating history. There we also have a nice rooftop view of the Jewish quarter. Walk to the broad wall, a remnant of Hezekiah's wall built 2700 years ago in defence against the Assyrians.
Stop at the Jewish quarter to eat or have coffee.
Next stop is the Western Wall, the retaining wall of the Temple Mount built by Herod more than 2000 years ago.
Upon request and availability, we can ascend to the Temple Mount (limited visiting hours!) to see the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock from up close (entry for non-Muslims is strictly forbidden).
Visit the Muslim quarter to see some of the magnificent Mamluk architecture and enter the Souq (market).
Follow via Dolorosa to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.
