Take a stroll on the narrow cobbled streets of Trogir to admire its architecture and experience the culture and lifestyle of Mostar. Also, see an open-air Museum of army collections from the Croatian Homeland War.

Highlights
  • Visit Rastoke village in the city of Slunj
  • See the historical architecture of the Split old town
  • Marvel at the stunning Diocletian Palace
  • Wander around Trogir - a medieval city northwest of Split
  • Day 1: Zagreb - Plitvice Lakes National Park - Split expand_more
    • Start the tour with pick up at your accommodation in Zagreb and a pleasant drive south.

    • After exiting the highway, notice an open-air Museum of army collections from the Croatian Homeland War. It is a rather small area that the museum covers but attractive to have a look at, and children will absolutely love it.

    • Have a short break at Rastoke village in the city of Slunj. This watermill historical village of extraordinary natural beauty and tradition is built where river Slunjčica flows into Korana river forming several waterfalls and lakes. Most of the traditional architecture you will see suffered destruction during the Homeland War. Locals have been encouraged to preserve and renovate objects due to their ambient and ethnological value.

    • After a half-hour drive from Slunj lies the oldest and most visited Croatian National Park stretching over 300 square kilometres, The Plitvice Lakes National Park. With its outstanding beauty, the park was inscribed as UNESCO World Heritage Site for geological and ecological values in 1979.

    • You will have a walk to see the complex of 16 terraced lakes joined by waterfalls, a boat ride across the lake and a scenic train ride.

    • Finish the day with a check-in to your accommodation in Split. You will have a free evening for a walk or dinner.

  • Day 2: Walking Tour in Split and Half-Day Trip to Trogir expand_more
    • In the morning, your Croatian tour guide will pick you up at your accommodation and take you to the Old Town to meet your private local guide for a walking tour of Split.

    • While roaming the labyrinth of streets of the Split old town and enjoying successive layers of historic architecture, you will see a historical complex of Split with the Diocletian's Palace, UNESCO World Heritage site since 1979, Main Square, Promenade and many more. Your local guide will tell you a story of history, art and local life.

    • After the walking tour, you will have some free time for lunch in one of the local restaurants serving fresh traditional food.

    • In the early afternoon hours, your guide will take you on a trip to Trogir - a medieval city situated on a tiny island 27 kilometres northwest of Split. Trogir is inscribed in the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites as a remarkable example of urban continuity, which can be seen in the preserved orthogonal street plan dating back from the Hellenistic period, outstanding Romanesque churches and beautiful Renaissance and Baroque buildings. Narrow cobbled streets with the minimum of modern interventions reveal beautiful palaces of nobility with architectural features from different historical periods and some of the best examples of sacred architecture in Croatia.

  • Day 3: Split - Mostar - Dubrovnik expand_more
    • On the third day of your tour, leave Split behind and drive towards Bosnia & Herzegovina to Mostar. Mostar is a city in southern Bosnia and Herzegovina best known for the iconic Ottoman-style Old Bridge (Stari Most).

    • Here, witness a unique blend of diverse cultural, ethnic and religious communities. Walking through the cobbled streets of Mostar, you will discover pre-Ottoman, eastern Ottoman, Mediterranean and western European architectural features.

    • The best things to do in Mostar include visits to a colourful bazaar, drinking Turkish coffee in riverside cafes and tasting local speciality called ćevapi.
