The itinerary

1
Day 01

Arrival in Tbilisi and City Tour

  • We will meet you in the arrival hall of Tbilisi Airport and transfer you to your hotel in downtown Tbilisi.
  • On this day, you will have a 5-hour city tour to learn more about the Georgian capital.
  • The program includes the Bridge of Peace, Narikala Fortress, Rike Park, the Old Bath District, the Puppet Theatre with the Drunken Tower, the old city wall, Freedom Square, the Mtatsminda mountain viewpoint, Rustaveli Avenue, Agmashenebeli Avenue, and the Trinity Cathedral viewpoint.

Day 02

Kakheti and the Alazani Valley

  • We will go to the eastern part of Georgia. The region is famous for its abundance of vineyards on the sloping mountains, rich orchards, cheese farms, and medieval fortresses with preserved defensive walls.
  • Via Gombori Gorge, travel with stunning views of the Small Caucasus Range in the south of Georgia and, on the other side, the Alazani Valley as we reach Kakheti.
  • The program includes a traditional Georgian wine vessel-making workshop that still produces vessels according to ancient technology with family secrets; an 800-year-old plane tree that still gives cool shade to the residents and guests of Telavi; Telavi medieval fortress with its history; cheese degustation at a family farm in a cosy garden space; and the estate of Georgian Prince Chavchavadze with its 200-year history.

Day 03

Jvari, Ananuri and Kazbeg Mountain

  • We will also visit the 6th-century Jvari Monastery, with its observation deck at the confluence of the Kura and Aragvi rivers; the Zhinvali Reservoir, surrounded by forested mountains reflected in turquoise water; the medieval stronghold of Ananuri Fortress; the Gudauri ski resort; and the village of Stepantsminda at the foot of the courageous Kazbeg mountain.

Note: Upon additional request, jeeping to Truso Gorge with mineral springs and slopes, Gveleti Waterfall, which is 35 m tall, and the Gergeti Trinity Church viewpoint at 2170 m above sea level can be arranged.

Day 04

Uplistsikhe and Borjomi Gorge

  • Meet the sun and caress the Greater Caucasus Range; we will go from the northernmost point of Georgia to Central Georgia.
  • The program includes Uplistsikhe cave town with its 3000-year history, and the green, forested Borjomi Gorge with its mineral waters in Central Park. Upon additional request, horse riding in the National Park, swimming in sulfur pools, and rafting on the Kura River can be arranged.

Day 05

Kutaisi, Okatse Canyon and Martvili

  • We will continue our trip to the Imereti region in the west of Georgia. Nature here is absolutely different compared with the northern, eastern, or central parts of Georgia because of the high humidity and Black Sea air flows, which influence the botanical and landscape diversity.
  • The program includes a walking tour through the old streets of Kutaisi, tremendous Okatse Canyon trekking, and Martvili Canyon with the turquoise water and waterfalls of the Abasha River. Upon additional request, Kinchkha Waterfall and Lomina Lake can also be visited.

Day 06

Prometheus Cave, Gelati and Mtskheta

  • This day's program includes visiting Prometheus Cave with its karst halls, decorated with stalactites and stalagmites. We will walk part of the route with you through this underground kingdom, and we will exit by boat along the underground river Kumistavi.
  • Next, head to the pristine frescoes of Gelati Monastery, where the first Georgian Academy was opened in the 12th century, with classes in rhetoric, philosophy, geometry, oratory, and astronomy.
  • Finally, go to the ancient city of Mtskheta with its old quarter streets and souvenir market.
  • Transfer back to Tbilisi for an overnight stay.

Day 07

Free Time in Tbilisi and Departure

  • This day is free. You have the opportunity to visit Tbilisi malls, buy some presents to take home, or walk freely through the streets of Tbilisi.
  • Transfer from the hotel to Tbilisi Airport in accordance with your flight timetable.
