Description

Embark on a chimpanzee tracking trek in the Kibale Forest National Park in Uganda and meet the massive primates. Hike the Nyakasura Crater and marvel at its view. Visit the Bigodi Wetland community to enjoy birding along with a community and a primate walk.

  • Day 1: Drive to Kibale forest National Park visit volcanoes caves expand_more
    • Our safari guide will pick you up after an early morning breakfast for your 3-day tour.
    • Leave Kampala City and drive towards Fort portal.
    • You will continue to Nyakasura for the cave and crater hike.
    • You will have a rewarding break at the top of one of the hills where you will have lunch.
    • After this activity, drive towards Kibale Forest National Park. 
    • You will arrive early evening in time for relaxation, dinner and overnight. 

    Accommodation: Kibale forest camp (Mid-range) 

  • Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking and Bigodi Community walk expand_more
    • You will have a full breakfast and then drive to the briefing or starting point.
    • Upon arrival, you will be briefed and grouped in numbers of 8 people, but sometimes you can exclusively go alone on rare occasions.
    • Once you have located the chimpanzees, you will spend a valuable time of 1 hour and then transfer to the picking point where you will be driven to your hotel for lunch.
    • After lunch, you will drive to Bigodi wetland, a community wetland tour for birding, and a community and primate walk.
    • Return later to your hotel in the evening for relaxation, dinner and overnight. 

    Journey time: 5-7 Hours 

    Accommodation: Kibale forest camp (Mid-range) 

  • Day 3: Drive back to Kampala expand_more
    • Have breakfast at leisure. Then drive back to Kampala for souvenir shopping and drop off at your preferred location. 

    Journey time: 5-6 Hours (Depending on activities involved, it can be less or more)
