Description
During World War One, a brigade of US Marines will be attached to the regular 2nd US Division. This brigade, the 4th Marine Brigade will glorify on various battlefields in France and for the first time at Belleau Wood. This tour will be followed by a visit of a local cave of Champagne.
Itinerary

Belleau Wood
- Departure from your accommodation in Château Thierry or from the train station if you come from Paris for the day
- Visit the center of the Lucy-le-Bocage village and see the 2nd Division monument. Walk across the village and see the main place of the 6th Marine Regiment,
- Next, tour the Bouresches village. Talk about the attack on the village by the Marines, the heroic action of Captain Duncan and the Medal of Honor receiver- Lieutenant Osborne, US Navy, who is today buried in the Aisne-Marne Cemetery,
- Walk in the Belleau wood to see the remains of this battle, including foxholes and trenches.
- Explore Belleau village and the Aisne-Marne American Cemetery to visit the grave of Lieutenant Osborne and the Chapel. On the wall, we can read the names of the missing Marines and Soldiers.
- Then, make a stop at the German Cemetery and see the panorama view of the battlefield.
- Go to Hill 204 to see a beautiful monument and look at the panorama view to understand why it was a strategic point for the Germans and Allies. Then, tour around its interpretive center.

- On the afternoon you will enjoy a tour of a Champagne cave including a tasting and the option to purchase one or more bottles
