Itinerary
-
Day 1: Arusha to Lake Manyara National Park
- After breakfast, meet your safari guide and begin the drive to Lake Manyara National Park, located 120 kilometres west of Arusha.
Explore this small but diverse park, famous for its shallow alkaline lake which hosts thousands of flamingos and over 500 bird species.
Enjoy wildlife viewing, including monkeys, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, elephants, and, with luck, the park’s famous tree-climbing lions.
Experience diverse landscapes ranging from grassy plains to woodlands and baobab-dotted escarpments.
After a full day of exploration, drive to Fig Tree Lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Main Destination: Lake Manyara National Park
-
Day 2: Lake Manyara to Serengeti National Park
- After breakfast, drive up the Ngorongoro crater highlands and stop at the rim for a scenic view of the crater.
Continue toward the vast Serengeti, whose name means “endless plains,” covering 18,000 square kilometres.
Witness the incredible wildlife abundance, including more than two million wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles, especially during the calving season from January to April.
Observe predators such as lions, cheetahs, and hyenas drawn to the migration.
Encounter smaller mammals including mongoose, jackals, monkeys, baboons, and hares, along with nearly 500 bird species.
After the game drive, proceed to Seronera Campsite for dinner and overnight.
Main Destination: Serengeti National Park
-
Day 3: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
- Wake up early for a spectacular sunrise game drive across the Serengeti plains.
Return to the campsite for brunch or lunch before continuing with an en-route game drive.
Travel toward Ngorongoro Conservation Area while viewing wildlife along the way.
Arrive at Simba Campsite on the crater rim for dinner and overnight.
Main Destination: Serengeti National Park
-
Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater Exploration
- Begin the day with an early breakfast before descending into the Ngorongoro Crater, considered one of the greatest wildlife sanctuaries in the world.
Explore the crater floor, home to nearly every major East African wildlife species, including the endangered black rhinoceros.
View rivers, swamps, forests, open plains, and the soda lake that attracts flamingos.
Observe large bull elephants with impressive tusks, a result of mineral-rich volcanic soil.
After the game drive, enjoy a hot lunch at the campsite and later drive to Fig Tree Lodge for dinner and overnight.
Main Destination: Ngorongoro Crater
-
Day 5: Tarangire National Park to Arusha
- After breakfast, drive to Tarangire National Park, famous for its massive elephant herds and ancient baobab trees.
Experience wildlife viewing from the open-roof safari vehicle as you explore savannah landscapes, wetlands, and the Tarangire River.
Look for zebras, wildebeest, buffalo, elephants, giraffes, and possibly lions or leopards resting in the trees.
Enjoy lunch inside the park before returning to Arusha, marking the end of your safari adventure.
Main Destination: Tarangire National Park
