Arrival in Nairobi and Kenya Safari Journey

DAY 1: ARRIVAL - NAIROBI

Today, our company representatives will meet you at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and transfer you to Sarova Panafric Hotel in Nairobi for your overnight stay. Depending on your time of arrival, our team will be on hand to organize a Nairobi city tour or a short game drive to Nairobi National Park.

Accommodation: Emara At Olesereni

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

DAY 2: NAIROBI - AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK

Rise early to enjoy a delicious breakfast at your hotel. Depart by road to Amboseli National Park, where you will experience your first game drive en route to your lodge. The park shelters more than 420 species of birds and has an enormous elephant population, along with other big game attracted to the area by underground springs fed from the melting snows of Mount Kilimanjaro. Lunch is served at the lodge before departing for an afternoon game drive. Return to the lodge and enjoy a scrumptious dinner.

Accommodation: Amboseli Sopa Lodge

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

DAY 3: AMBOSELI - LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK

Depart Amboseli for Lake Nakuru, arriving in time for lunch. In the afternoon, proceed for an afternoon game drive.

Lake Nakuru National Park provides an excellent chance of seeing rhino, as well as a rare species of giraffe and other wildlife.

Accommodation: Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

DAY 4: LAKE NAKURU - LAKE BOGORIA NATIONAL PARK

After breakfast, we depart for Lake Bogoria National Park with a brief stopover at the Equator Line crossing point. Check into our lodge before driving to the park. Enjoy the hot springs and millions of pink flamingos, plus other plains game. Return to our lodge for lunch, then spend the afternoon at leisure, either enjoying a swim in the naturally heated spa pool or simply relaxing at the lodge.

Accommodation: Lake Bogoria Spa Resort

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

DAY 5: LAKE BOGORIA - LAKE NAIVASHA

Next, we overland to papyrus-fringed Lake Naivasha. With over 400 species of birds, this freshwater lake is a birding paradise. Along the lake's fabled waters, we are bound to see some of the area's more intriguing species - hippos, giraffes, buffalo, and even the arboreal colobus monkey. Lake Naivasha lies in the Great Rift Valley, and the name derives from the local Masai name Nai'posha, meaning "rough water" because of the sudden storms that can arise. An optional boat ride on the lake reveals many water bird species and schools of hippos.

Accommodation: Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

DAY 6: LAKE NAIVASHA - MASAI MARA NATIONAL RESERVE

We depart the lodge soon after breakfast and proceed to Masai Mara. This enormous reserve, actually part of the vast Serengeti plains, is famously known for its spectacular great wildebeest migration and is a true home of the Big Five - lion, elephant, leopard, rhino, and Cape buffalo. After lunch, explore the reserve on a late evening game drive.

Accommodation: Mara Sopa Lodge

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

DAY 7: EXPLORE MASAI MARA GAME RESERVE

The Masai Mara is one of the greatest wildernesses in the world. Morning and afternoon game drives are planned. Large mammals are varied, abundant, and easy to see. Residents among the park's mammals include Masai giraffe, buffalo, impala, zebra, topi, and both Thomson's and Grant's gazelles. Optional hot air balloon rides are available on this day at an additional cost. On this final day in the Mara, you also have an optional opportunity to visit an authentic Masai village.

Overnight Accommodation: Mara Sopa Lodge

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

DAY 8: MASAI MARA GAME RESERVE - DRIVE TO NAIROBI

Begin today with an early morning game drive followed by a complete English breakfast at your lodge. Mid-morning, drive to Nairobi. Lunch en route.

The balance of the day is at leisure for last-minute assisted shopping and sightseeing.

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch

NOTE:

The world needs trees more than ever. At Royal Private Safaris, we introduce you to how to plant some on your travels. For every guest who travels with our company in Kenya, we plant a tree in his or her name. Since 2015, we have planted roughly 5,000 trees and counting. Though small, these reforestation efforts can raise awareness of the need to increase tree cover to reduce carbon emissions and have the potential to make a tangible, sustained impact.
