Hello and Welcome to Ethiopia
My name is Yohannes, though most people simply call me John.

I am 27, and proudly born and raised in Lalibela, home to one of the world’s most extraordinary treasures, the 11 Rock Hewn Churches, often celebrated as the Eighth Wonder of the World.Growing up among these ancient monuments meant that history was not just something I studied, it was part of my everyday life.I learned early how to connect with visitors from all around the globe.

I hold a College Diploma in Tour Guiding, Tour Operation and Supervision, and a degree in Tourism Management from the Catering and Tourism Training Institute in Addis Ababa.

My professional guiding career began in 2017, specialising in Lalibela and its surrounding marvels.In 2018, I completed my studies, and in 2019, I was honoured to receive a Gold Medal award and qualify as a Federal Tour Guide of Ethiopia.
Today, I guide travellers throughout my country with passion, knowledge and deep respect for Ethiopia’s culture, nature and heritage.
With me, you will not simply hear facts and dates.I bring stories, soul, serenity, curiosity and most of all fun.
