Day 1: Mekele to Hamed Ela in the Danakil Depression
- Depart from Mekele in the morning and begin the journey into the Danakil Depression.
- Stop at Lake Afrera and observe traditional salt mining by the Afar people.
- Continue to Hamed Ela and explore the salt flats at sunset.
- Spend the night at a basic camp in Hamed Ela.

Day 2: Dallol and Drive Towards Erta Ale
- Visit Dallol early in the morning and discover one of the lowest points in Africa.
- Explore colourful sulfur springs, salt canyons, and striking mineral formations.
- Visit Lake Assale and see the Afar salt caravans transporting salt blocks.
- Drive toward the Erta Ale area in the afternoon.
- Spend the night near Erta Ale at an open air camp.

Day 3: Erta Ale Volcano and Return to Mekele
- Hike early in the morning to the Erta Ale crater to witness the active lava lake.
- Descend from the crater and continue the journey back by vehicle.
- Drive in the afternoon back to Mekele airport.
