I have been guiding in Bale Mountain National Park for 

10 years and am a licensed tour guide, operating with 

the company name Bale Mountains Trekking Tours 

Ethiopia.I also guide and organize trekking, bird 

watching and historical tours in other areas of 

Ethiopia.I am passionate about traveling and 

fascinated by the historical and natural attractions of 

Ethiopia.I like to meet new people from different parts 

of the world and learn about their own cultural tourism 

attractions. 

My tours to Bale Mountain National Park include: 

2-3 day trips from Addis Ababa where I organize bus 

or car transportation to Dinsho, followed by a short 

hike on the Gasey grasslands to spot the endemic 

mammals of Ethiopia such as the mountain Nyala, 

Meniliks Bushback and many bird species.We 

overnight in Goba at the Wabe-Shebele Hotel and the 

next day drive up to the Sanetti Plateau, a 

beautiful Afro-alpine moorland with wild alpine 

scenery.Here we are likely to see the 

endangered Ethiopian Wolf, the Abyssinian Hare and 

many exotic water birds.After lunch, we continue to 

the Harrena forest for a short walk to a waterfall.We 

return to Goba for an overnight,and the next day, 

proceed back to Addis ababa or another part of 

Ethiopia. 

Extended, multi day trekking tours through the park, 

spending more time viewing all of the 

wildlife mentioned above and also experiencing the 

unique lifestyle of the local people who inhabit the 

park.Trekkers are welcome to bring their own food and 

camping equipment, or I am happy to purchase food, 

hire a cook, and camping gear.Trekkers can walk, or 

travel on horseback, or a combination of both.
