Itinerary

1. Day 1: Gondar to Sankaber

   • Depart early morning from Gondar to Debark.
   • Arrange park entry formalities and meet your scout and guide.
   • Drive into Simien Mountains National Park and continue to Sankaber.
   • Choose to drive to the campsite or begin a short hike from Buyit Ras.
   • Enjoy beautiful views of the endless mountain ridges.
   • Spot Gelada Baboons along the escarpment.
   • Arrive at Sankaber where your supplies will be waiting.

2. Day 2: Sankaber to Geech Camp

   • Begin hiking along the ridge with views over the foothills 800 metres below.
   • Descend into the valley and see the Jinbar River plunging into the Geech Abyss.
   • Spend time at the waterfall before continuing your trek.
   • Pass through Geech village and arrive at the second campsite.

3. Day 3: Geech to Ambaras

   • Trek for an average of six to seven hours across one of the most magnificent routes in the Simien Mountains.
   • Pass through Imet Gogo at an altitude of 3,926 metres.
   • Enjoy a panoramic 360 degree view of canyons, distant ridges, and seemingly endless valleys.
   • Break for lunch at the viewpoint.
   • Continue hiking to Ambaras to meet your vehicle.
   • Drive back to Debark or Gondar, marking the end of your trek.
