Wine Tourism Day in Priorat. Pick up in Priorat but also in Tarragona, Barcelona. Enjoy the stunning wine landscape of the Priorat region and savour the wines of both appellations of origin. A great diversity of mountains, landscapes, cultural elements, history and wines in such a tiny area just 100km south of Barcelona!
The Priorat is a region with ancient wine tradition, with wines already famous from as far back as the XIIth Century, well known for their powerful flavour and taste. Nowadays, in the Priorat, there are two appellations of origin (DO), the qualified DOQ Priorat, which is formed by the Historic Priorat territory, and the DO Montsant, a newer DO, however, producing surprisingly good wines. With its diverse but unknown wine landscape, the Priorat area is full of hidden and unexpected spots of great beauty and walks between vineyards that pleasure us with an ever-changing scenery over the four seasons, full of colours and intense aromas. With this private tour, you will be able to “taste the Priorat wine region” in one day, enjoying its powerful landscape and savouring both appellations of origin of the wine. We recently added a tasting of organic olive oil by a local producer to the tour. A unique experience to savour real high-quality olive oil! The itinerary combines a train trip from Barcelona or any other village, a train connection to Marçà-Falset/Reus/Tarragona, and a private guided tour. Pick up at the train station or your accommodation
- Typical timetable that can be adjusted to your needs, schedule, pick-up point.
- 10:00h. Pick up and drive to the first winery. Visit to the winery, to the vineyards (depending on the winery chosen) and wine tasting.
- 13:00h. Organic olive oil tasting with the local producer.
- 14:00h. Lunch in a local restaurant that can be upgraded with a pairing lunch in a winery.
- 16:00h. Visit and wine tasting in a historical winery.
- 17:30h. Return back to the train or accommodation.
