Oretani Wildlife is run by me, Mike Grimes, an Irish man who loves nature and birdwatching and I have lived in the heart of this region in Ciudad Real, Castilla-La Mancha since 1998.I was born in Cork, Ireland, and am a graduate of Earth Sciences of the National University of Ireland, Galway, I spent over twelve years working at sea as a geophysicist.Realizing that a change of life would allow me to spend more time doing what I truly love outdoors, my wife and I have renovated a 130-year-old village house and provide guest accommodation in the quiet village of Picón.We provide bed and breakfast with a kitchen and cooking facilities for our guests for those who wish to relax and see the real heart of Spain's wildlife and culture.The house itself is but a stone's throw away from some of the best birding areas encompassing many different habitats, some actually within walking distance.
