In an air-conditioned car, you will go with your Egyptian guide to see the Great Abydos Temple in the morning. This temple is located about 180 km from Luxor. The Egyptian guide will explain all about the temple's significance to you. A principal purpose of the temple was that of a memorial temple to the King Seti I, as well as reverence of the early pharaohs. This temple is mainly famous for an inscription from the 19th Dynasty and is known to the modern world as the Abydos King List. It is actually a chronological list showing cartouches of most dynastic pharaohs of Egypt from Menes until Seti I's father, Ramesses I.
