Aswan Sightseeing tour
- Start your day with an early pick-up from your hotel, starting with your first stop at the magnificent Aswan High Dam, Egypt’s shield against floods that used to submerge Egypt once. Aswan High Dam is an engineering pearl of 12,570 feet long and 364 feet in height that doesn't only prevent flooding but also provides most of Egypt’s hydroelectric power.
- Next, we’ll take you to Philae Temple, which is dedicated to the goddess Isis and consists of many pylons, structures, courtyards, and sanctuaries. The temple is a mixture of Greco-Roman and Egyptian and to save it from being drowned, the temple was cut into 40,000 pieces and moved to its current location on Agilkia Island.
- Enjoy a short motorboat journey to reach this awe-inspiring site.
- Next, delve into Aswan's granite quarries, historically the primary source of granite for all of Egypt, and marvel at the colossal Unfinished Obelisk, believed to have been intended for Queen Hatshepsut, and gain insights into the ancient Egyptians' masterful techniques for quarrying and shaping obelisks.
- After a delicious lunch at a local restaurant, take another motorboat ride to the enchanting Nubian Village, nestled on the west bank of the Nile.
- Immerse yourself in the captivating culture of the Nubian people, visiting their traditional homes and experiencing their simple yet vibrant way of life.
- Learn about their customs and traditions, and be charmed by their warm hospitality.
- Following this unforgettable cultural encounter, you'll be comfortably transferred back to your pick up.
