Itinerary

1. Day 1- Arrival in Cairo

   • Meet your tour guide upon arrival at Cairo International Airport. 
   • Transfer to your hotel, just near the Pyramids. 
   • Enjoy your ‘Welcome Dinner’ at a local Egyptian restaurant.

   Meals: Dinner

2. Day 2- Saqqara

   • After breakfast, go to the Step Pyramid at Saqqara, the first free-standing building of stone in the whole world dating back to 2700 BC.

   Meals: Breakfast & Lunch

   Hotel: Steigenberger Pyramids (or similar)

3. Day 3- Giza

   • Today, explore the Giza Plateau, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and the only one that still exists.  
   • Continue our adventure with a camel ride through the Sahara.
   • Then, visit the Guardian Angel of the area, the monolithic and iconic Sphinx.
   • Now, experience how the ancients recorded their history on the first paper ever produced, Papyrus, at a government-regulated Papyrus Institute.

4. Day 4- Egyptian Museum - Aswan

   • Early in the morning, proceed to the Egyptian Museum, home to thousands of artifacts covering all the eras of Egyptian history, including the most famous piece of all, the Golden Mask of the young King Tutankhamun. 
   • Tonight, fly south to Aswan (internal flights not included).

5. Day 5- Philae Temple - Nubian Village

   • Today, take a relaxing motorboat ride to Agilkia Island to see the incredible Philae Temple, one of the most visited temples in Nubia. Philae Temple was dedicated to the goddess Isis, the wife of Osiris and mother of Horus. 
   • Dinner tonight will be an exceptional experience as we visit a local Nubian village.
   • After dinner, wander through Aswan Market before going back to the hotel.

6. Day 6- Abu Simbel

   • An early start today as you will head to the magnificent Temples of Abu Simbel, a must-see for everyone who comes to Egypt. These temples were cut deep into the rock and dedicated to Pharaoh Ramses II and his beloved wife, Nefertari. 
   • Return to Aswan to join the luxurious Nile River Cruise Boat.

   Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

7. Day 7- Nile River Cruise

   • After an early morning sailing and breakfast on-board, visit Kom Ombo, the dual temple of Horus & Sobek.
   • Return to the Cruise Boat and enjoy an afternoon sailing towards Edfu. 
   • Afternoon Tea on the Sun Deck.
   • Dress like an Egyptian at the Galabeya Party tonight hosted in the lounge on-board.

8. Day 8- Nile River Cruise

   • Free Day on-board the luxury Nile River Cruise
   • Enjoy sailing and watching life on the banks of the Nile.
   • Relax by the pool, catch up on some rest or get a relaxing massage.

9. Day 9- Karnak Temples

   • Have breakfast on board, then check out from the cruise. 
   • Head to Karnak Temple at the East Bank of the River Nile. The temple complex is vast, covering an area of 1½ x 3 km dedicated to the Pharaoh Amun and was also the centre of worship for his wife Mut and their son Khons. There are over 25 temples and chapels in the complex.
   • Then, explore the Karnak complex, which includes several of the finest examples of ancient Egyptian design and architecture. Among them is the Hypostyle Hall, considered one of the world’s great architectural achievements. It is filled with 134 enormous pillars, the highest 70 feet tall, and each about 45 feet around.

   Overnight in Luxor, the hotel is again positioned on the edge of the Nile River.

10. Day 10- Valley of the Kings

    • Enjoy a visit to the Valley of the Kings. Climb down into the spectacularly decorated tombs of the Pharaohs. 
    • After that, visit the Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut and Deir el-Bahri (Northern Monastery), which indicates that the site was once used by Christian monks.
    • Go to a local alabaster factory and see how the hand-made pieces were created in ancient Egypt.

11. Day 11- Luxor

    • Today is free to explore Luxor at your leisure.

12. Day 12- Luxor - Cairo

    • Return to Cairo.

    Meals: Breakfast

13. Day 13- Cairo

    • After breakfast, start the day in Old Coptic Cairo (Hanging Church, Church of Abu Serga & Ben Ezra Synagogue). 
    • Then, visit Mohamed Ali Alabaster Mosque inside the Citadel of Salah El Din.
    • Continue the drive to the area of Islamic Cairo to explore Khan El Khalili, Cairo’s old bazaar.

14. Day 14- Departure

    • Enjoy one last breakfast as you gaze at the Pyramids.
    • Then, transfer to Cairo International Airport for your return flight.
