- Museum of Egyptian Antiquities- commonly known as the Egyptian Museum, in Cairo, Egypt. It is home to an extensive collection of ancient Egyptian antiquities dating back about 5,000 years of art. It is considered the world's largest and most valuable collection of Egyptian art. More than 250,000 original artifacts are presented, with a representative amount on display, the rest are in stores, and the Egyptian Museum is filled with thousands of pharaonic artifacts, including the golden treasures of King Tutankhamun. Fascinating objects such as jewels, headdresses, alabaster vases, and toys from ancient Egypt are all on display. Many priceless statues and other artifacts that were kept in his tomb for more than 3,500 years before their discovery in 1922, when the tomb was excavated, can also be seen in the Egyptian Museum. It is one of the first stops on most people's itineraries when travelling to Egypt.
- The Citadel of Salah al-Din- was built under the order of Saladin between 1176 and 1183 to protect the city from European attacks. Today it is one of the main tourist attractions of Cairo and offers privileged views of the city.
- Mohamed Ali "Alabaster Mosque"- is considered the largest to be built at the beginning of the 19th century by the ruler of Egypt (1805-1849), who ruled Egypt for over 45 years. It is built in Turkish style.
- The Mosque-Madrassa of Sultan Hassan- is regarded as the finest piece of the early-Mamluk architecture era in Cairo, an age of architectural splendour. The story has it that constructing this complex was a tedious and tragic process. In fact, it was built between 1356 and 1363 by Sultan Hassan, who was murdered shortly before the mosque was completed. Sultan Hassan's Madrassa Mosque was built out of huge blocks of stone. Due to its tremendous height, this mosque soon became a symbol of the culmination of all the architectural power developed throughout a century of Mamluk rule. When arriving at the mosque, your eyes will be immediately drawn upward into the blue sky. And as you lower your head, you will witness the most amazingly patterned mosaic-paved courtyard, unprecedented in Cairo.
- The Al-Rifai Mosque (Masjid Al-Rifa'i) is similarly grand. The mosque, built between 1869 and 1912, has a towering minaret and four decorated facades capped with an ornate dome. One of Cairo’s largest mosques, it houses the tombs of many members of the Egyptian royal family, including King Farouk.
