Day 01

Valley of the Queens, Valley of the Kings and Hatshepsut Temple

In the morning, after breakfast at your hotel in Luxor, your professional English-speaking tour guide will pick you up from the hotel lobby in a modern private air-conditioned car to begin a wonderful day tour to the Valley of the Queens, where the royal wives of the ancient pharaohs were buried. In ancient Egypt, it was called Ta St Nerw, meaning "the place of beauty," and it was most famous as the burial site of many pharaohs' wives.

Then, head to the Valley of the Kings to enjoy visiting the royal tombs of the ancient Egyptian pharaohs. Finally, continue to the beautiful Temple of Queen Hatshepsut.

Before leaving Luxor's West Bank, you can make a short stop to take a beautiful picture with the Colossi of Memnon. After the tour, our team will drop you back at your hotel in Luxor.

Luxor's climate has lower precipitation levels than most other places in the Sahara. The desert city is one of the driest in the world, and rainfall does not occur yearly. The air is more humid than in Aswan but still very dry. There is an average relative humidity of 39.9%, with a maximum mean of 57% during winter and a minimum of 27% during summer. The climate is bright and sunny year-round, in all seasons, with low seasonal variation, and about 4,000 hours of annual sunshine, very close to the maximum theoretical sunshine duration. The hottest temperature recorded was on May 15, 1991, at 50 °C (122 °F), and the coldest temperature was on February 6, 1989, at -1 °C (30 °F).
