Alexandria Day Trip from Cairo
- At 6:00 am, get picked up from your hotel in either Cairo or Giza by your tour guide and drive to Alexandria, 220 k/m away from Cairo.
- Arrive in Alexandria around 10:00 am and explore the Roman Theatre, which has a capacity of 800 spectators. See several beautiful galleries, a section of mosaic flooring and a pleasure garden surrounded by Roman Villas & baths.
- Visit the famous Catacomb of Kom El-Shoqafa. Regarded as one of the seven wonders of the world, this complex possesses tombs on three levels, a Tri-cilium where relatives used to sit on stone benches to feast the dead, a center with relieves of bearded serpents, and statues of Sobek and Anubis wearing Roman Armour.
- Then, proceed to Alexandria Library, which was once the largest and one of the most important libraries in the world.
- Also, see Qaitbay Citadel (from outside), a defensive fortress built in the 14th-century.
- Head to El Mursi Abu Al-Abbas, a mosque that inhibits the tomb of the famous Sufi saint Abul Abbas al-Mursi.
