Known as the “City of Eternal Spring,” Medellín enjoys pleasant weather year-round, with average temperatures around 72°F (22°C). Light, breathable clothing is perfect for the daytime, but bring a sweater or jacket for cooler evenings. Since the itinerary includes walking tours and stair climbing, comfortable walking shoes are essential. Sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses are recommended, as is a small umbrella or light rain jacket due to occasional showers.

Spanish is the official language, and while you’ll be accompanied by bilingual guides, English is not widely spoken in public spaces. It’s helpful to learn a few basic Spanish phrases, and having WhatsApp installed on your phone is a smart way to communicate locally. The local currency is the Colombian Peso (COP). Credit and debit cards are accepted in many places, but carrying some cash is necessary for street food, small vendors, and tips. Use ATMs located inside banks or shopping malls for safety. Tipping is customary—about 10% in restaurants and small amounts for guides and drivers are appreciated.
