Itinerary

1. Day 1 – Welcome to Cuyabeno Wildlife Reserve

   • Arrive at El Puente and enjoy a box lunch before boarding a motorized canoe.
   • Journey 2–3 hours down the Cuyabeno River, spotting monkeys, birds, and river dolphins.
   • Settle into your Amazon lodge surrounded by jungle sounds.
   • Dinner followed by an introduction to the reserve and upcoming adventures.

2. Day 2 – Exploring Laguna Grande by Traditional Killa de Remo

   • Breakfast before setting out in a traditional killa de remo canoe.
   • Paddle 1.5 hours upriver to Laguna Grande through flooded igapó forests.
   • Spot orchids, butterflies, monkeys, and macrolobium trees.
   • Hike the Palma Roja Trail (approx. 3 hours) to see toucans, howler monkeys, and rainforest wildlife.
   • Enjoy a lakeside lunch, swimming, and a beautiful Amazon sunset.
   • Return for dinner and relaxation at the lodge.

3. Day 3 – Discovering Nature and Local Community Traditions

   • Early birdwatching excursion at 6:00 a.m.
   • Motorized canoe ride downstream with wildlife sightings.
   • Visit Puerto Bolívar and meet a Cofan shaman for a traditional ceremony.
   • Lunch with the community and cultural immersion.
   • Visit the Siona community to learn cassava bread preparation.
   • Sunset canoe ride at Laguna Grande, followed by a night walk to spot nocturnal creatures.
   • Dinner at 8:30 p.m.

4. Day 4 – Farewell Cuyabeno
