Montes de Maria tour
- 5:30 am- Drive out of Cartagena to the Montes de Maria. Hike on to discover flora, fauna and petroglyphs left by indigenous people of this region.
- 12:30 pm- Have a typical lunch in the area.
- 2:00 pm- Visit the town of the region to learn about the history and culture of this region.
- 2:00 pm- Leave the region.
Approximate driving time: 4 hours.
Approximate walking time: 3.5 hours.

Know Before You Go

Physicality, Travel Style & Cultural Shock:

These trips involve hiking or walking for up to three hours (4 miles approx.) a day at a slow pace on undulating terrain, with small rocks, and we cross shallow streams. The itinerary takes place in remote areas. To enjoy these adventures, we suggest reasonable fitness and health, a moderately active lifestyle and also a positive attitude. Be prepared for potential variable weather conditions. (Rain: Apr-Dec)

Due to the nature of the activities undertaken in this trip, pregnant women, children under 7 years old and minors unaccompanied by their parents or legal guardians are not allowed.

A day pack for you to carry your personal items

Closed-toe shoes and long pants are mandatory because our hike is in the forest. There will be mud, creeks and rocks on our path. Bring sandals (flip flops) to wear after the hiking as it´s comfortable (please see the pictures attached).

A plastic bag for wet shoes

A light rain jacket or an umbrella. Rain (April-Nov)
