Private Tour Guide In
Easter Island

Iorana! My name is Tekohuaitini Kohumoetini Cristino.I am a certified Local Guide, but my connection to this land, Rapa Nui, goes far beyond a profession; it is the essence of who I am.I grew up immersed in Polynesian history and traditions, an invaluable legacy from my parents. My father, the renowned archaeologist Claudio Cristino, arrived on the island in the 1970s and, under the mentorship of the legendary William Mulloy, dedicated his life to preserving our heritage.I witnessed his monumental work on the restoration of the Ceremonial Village of Orongo, the cradle of the Tangata Manu (Birdman) competition, and his leadership in the titanic restoration of Ahu Tongariki from 1992 to 1996.In this latter milestone, my mother, Colette Kohumoetini, was a key figure in the management and administration, helping to transform the site into one of the most imposing attractions in the world.

This environment forged my perspective. At 35, I can say that my life has been a constant journey of learning our ancestral knowledge. My solid academic background, with a degree in Public Administration from USACH, an Agricultural Technician degree from INACAP, and an MBA from the Universidad de Chile, intertwines with my passion for agritourism.I am developing my own project at my agroecological farm in Vaihu, convinced that the future of Rapa Nui lies in sustainability and food sovereignty—honoring our ancestors, who were not only sculptors but also magnificent farmers and fishermen.

My knowledge is nurtured by giants like my father, as well as other great figures like Edmundo Edwards, Cristian Moreno Pakarati, and classic authors such as Sebastián Englert and Katherine Routledge.

Today, I continue the family legacy of "Archeological Travel Service" through my own agency, Vaikava Experience.Fluent in Spanish, English, and French, and aboard a comfortable 2025 Ford Bronco Sport, my promise is to offer more than just a tour: it is an invitation to live a unique, profound, and high-quality experience in the most isolated inhabited territory on the planet.
