Itinerary

1. Day 01: Arrive in Paro – Transfer to Thimphu (1 hr drive / 60 km)

   • Arrive at Paro International Airport and complete immigration formalities.

   • Meet your guide at the airport exit and receive a warm Bhutanese welcome.

   • Transfer to Thimphu, Bhutan’s serene capital nestled in a fertile valley.

   • Check in to your hotel and rest.

   • Visit Thangtong Dewachen Nunnery overlooking Tashicho Dzong.

   • Participate in a traditional butter lamp lighting ceremony to begin your spiritual journey.

   • Explore the grand Trashicho Dzong, Bhutan’s seat of government and monastic leadership.

   • Stroll through the Authentic Bhutanese Craft Bazaar along Norzin Lam.

   Dine and overnight at hotel in Thimphu.

2. Day 02: Explore Thimphu Valley

   • Visit Buddha Dordenma Statue for panoramic views over Thimphu.

   • Circumambulate the Memorial Chorten and observe locals engaged in spiritual practice.

   • Discover the national animal, Takin, at the Royal Takin Reserve Centre.

   • Learn about Bhutanese textile heritage at the National Textile Museum.

   • Engage in a private evening talk with a Bhutanese scholar on religion, culture, or politics.

   • Return to your hotel for overnight stay in Thimphu.

3. Day 03: Transfer to Punakha via Dochula Pass (3 hrs drive)

   • Depart early and ascend to Dochula Pass at 3,088 meters.

   • Stop to admire 108 chortens and panoramic Himalayan views (weather permitting).

   • Hike to Lungchutse Monastery through rhododendron forests and meadows.

   • Hoist Lung Dhar prayer flags at the peak to invoke peace and protection.

   • Descend and continue drive to Punakha Valley.

   • Check in to your hotel and rest.

4. Day 04: Explore Punakha Valley

   • Begin the day with a short hike to Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten for spiritual blessings.

   • Visit Zomlingthang Temple showcasing contemporary Bhutanese art.

   • Explore Punakha Dzong, a majestic fortress at the confluence of two rivers.

   • Conclude with a visit to Sangchen Dorji Lhundrup Nunnery and interact with resident nuns.

5. Day 05: Transfer to Paro (3.5 hrs drive)

   • Depart Punakha and drive to Paro via Dochula Pass.

   • Visit the National Museum housed in the historic Ta Dzong.

   • Explore Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest and holiest temples.

   • Participate in a guided Mandala creation at Phuba Mandala Display Center.

   • Visit a traditional farmhouse for an immersive cultural experience.

   • Dress in Bhutanese attire and attend a private cultural performance and dinner with a local family.

6. Day 06: Hike to Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest) – Hot Stone Bath

   • Begin early for the spiritual hike to Taktsang Monastery, perched on a cliffside.

   • Reach the viewpoint in 1.5 hours and optionally proceed up to the monastery.

   • Explore the sacred site where Guru Rinpoche meditated.

   • Descend and return to Paro.

   • Enjoy a rejuvenating hot stone bath in a traditional farmhouse.

7. Day 07: Departure from Paro Airport

   • Drive to Paro International Airport for departure.

   • Admire final views of the Himalayas, including Mt. Everest and Kanchenjunga (weather permitting).
