Description
This tour cover the archaeological and historical sites within a day retreat completed Sonargaon which was the 1st Capital of Bengal ( 13th to 17th Century) along with Panam city remnants and Moinamoti Buddhist ruins archaeological sites for knowing about earliest Buddhist educational and cultural center flourished during 8th Century.
- Depart Dhaka in the early morning for Mainamoti which is about 114km southeast of Dhaka is well connected by road; the journey will take two and half hours. On arrival you will visit “War cemetery” where you can see the graveyard of the soldiers who died in the Myanmar front during the World War-2.
- Drive to the Archeological camp where the Shalban Vihara and the Museum are located. Excavated Buddhist remains of 8th/9th century are dotted all the way along the north – south running Lalmai –Moinamoti – hill range. From the following adjacent sites you may also visit: Ananda Vihar, Charpatra Mura, Itakhola Mura, Rupban Mura, Kutila Mura andTriratna Stupa. Among these, the Ananda Vihara, the Charpatra Mura and the Kutila Mura are situated within the Moinamoti Cantonment are therefore, prior permission of the cantonment authorities is necessary for the visit. After lunch at Miami restaurant we will drive back to Dhaka.
- On the way back, we will stop at Sonargaon, the lost city, which was the capital of Bengal from the 13th – 17th century for sight-seeing. our time p may permits to visit the folklore museum (if open) and the Panam city, on arrival Dhaka in the evening transfer to the hotel / residence.

Sonargaon and Moinamoti archaeological Trip
