- Pick up at the agreed meeting point in El Calafate. We will provide information about the place, the glacier, and the excursion through audio guides in Spanish, English, and Portuguese in our comfortable buses.
- Once in the “Bajo de las Sombras” port (Route 11 km 70.9), embark to cross Lake Rico, arriving at the opposite coast after approximately 20 minutes of navigation in front of the south face of the Perito Moreno Glacier.
- Upon disembarking, you will be greeted by the mountain guides, who will lead you to a refuge provided with sanitary facilities.
- From there, a short walk will begin along the shore of the lake, which includes a talk about glaciology in general and the Perito Moreno Glacier in particular.
- Upon reaching the glacier's edge, get separated into groups of 20 people each and put on crampons and helmets. Once on the ice, you will receive a brief safety briefing and begin the hike.
- With mountain guides' help, you will always enjoy this natural paradise of ice. The walk is of medium difficulty and has many ups and downs. The tour of the glacier lasts approximately an hour and a half. During its course, you will be able to appreciate a variety of typical formations of a glacier, such as cracks, sinkholes, seracs, lagoons, etc.
- At the end of the walk on the ice, you will return to the refuge through a footbridge that crosses the exuberant Patagonian Andean forest.
- Embark to return to the port and observe the walls of the glacier.

What to bring
- Clothing: It is convenient to wear comfortable shoes (ideally trekking shoes) and warm clothes (sweaters, sweatshirts, windbreakers, and waterproof jackets). Sunglasses, protective cream and gloves. Also, a hat for the sun or a coat if it is icy.
- Lunch: Bring food to eat in the forest shelter when you get off the ice. They do not give the times to have lunch in the restaurant of Las Pasarelas.
Know before you go
- Consider:
- Of medium physical demand, suitable for people from 10 to 65 years old exclusively.
- Not suitable for overweight people, pregnant women, or people with any degree or physical or mental disability that affects their attention, walking and coordination. People who suffer from central or peripheral cardiovascular diseases, whose cardiac or vascular capacities are diminished, or who use stents, bypasses, pacemakers or other prostheses—for example, Anticoagulant medications and grade III varicose veins (thick and multiple).
- People suffer from diseases caused by respiratory disabilities (COPD, asthma, emphysema, etc.).
- The excursion includes a one-hour guided visit to the footbridges of the Perito Moreno Glacier, 7 km from the port. You can enjoy the spectacular panoramic view of the glacier and walk one of the self-guided trails there. The Minitrekking is aimed at people who enjoy nature and adventure and want to live the experience of walking on the ice of the most beautiful glacier in the world.
