Lake Bovilla and Mount Gamti Hike – 9-Hour Itinerary
- Begin your experience with a hotel pickup in Tirana and drive northeast through the countryside. Travel toward the Bovilla Dam, located at the gateway to the canyon that feeds Lake Bovilla.
Arrive at the base of Mount Gamti and start a gentle, guided hike through forested terrain. Follow a gradual incline that leads to a panoramic viewpoint overlooking the emerald-green Lake Bovilla and the surrounding hills.
Pause at the summit viewpoint, often called the “Balcony of Lake Bovilla.” Take time to enjoy the dramatic scenery, take photographs, and appreciate the peaceful atmosphere.
Descend along the same trail, returning to the base near the dam.
Visit a riverside spot below the dam to relax by the water. Take a break to enjoy the fresh air or dip your feet in the cool river. Swimming in the reservoir is not permitted due to its role as a drinking water source for Tirana.
Pause at a lakeside or riverside location for a short rest. Enjoy a light picnic or snack surrounded by nature and scenic views.
Return to Tirana by road, passing through rural landscapes and small villages. Complete your nature escape with scenic views as you head back to the city.
