Itinerary

1. Day 1- Dar es Salaam to Selous game reserve

   • After breakfast and introduction from our staff, you will be picked up from your hotel/Airport in Dar es Salaam and drive to Selous Game Reserve which is almost 218.6 km with approximately 6 hours driving.

   • Arrive at Hippo Camp in time for lunch. 

   • Enjoy an evening boat safari with your Tanzania tour guide/driver.

   Overnight at Hippo Camp. 

2. Day 2- Game drive in Selous Game Reserve

   • After breakfast in the morning, enjoy a full day game inside the game reserve with your lunch boxes. Get great animal sightings, including all the great favourites lion, elephant, giraffe, buffalo, zebra, and other major species like hunting dogs and birds in the afternoon after lunch. 

   • Proceed with the game drive until evening.

   Overnight at the Hippo Camp.

3. Day 3- Selous to Mikumi National Park

   • After breakfast, drive to Mikumi National Park with your lunch boxes. 5 hours of driving.

   • Arrive late afternoon and enjoy a game drive inside Mikumi Park, where you will be able to see a wide variety of bird species, zebras, hippos, hartebeest, wildebeest, impala, warthog, eland antelope, giraffe, buffalo and elephants.

   Overnight at Tanswiss Lodge. 

4. Day 4- Game Drive in Mikumi National Park

   • Enjoy a full day of game drives in Mikumi National Park. You will eat a picnic lunch at midday and get the chance to see some of what you missed on the first day in the park.

   Dinner and overnight will be at Lodge. 

5. Day 5- Mikumi to Ruaha National Park

   • After breakfast early in the morning, drive from Mikumi Park to Ruaha National Park, 274 km with lunch boxes via Iringa town. You will be passing through the countryside and see lovely scenery and beautiful valleys and mountains.

   • Upon arrival, you will visit the museum, which holds the head of the great local chief Mkwawa who resisted the Germans in Iringa town. 

   • Drive to Ruaha hilltop lodge for an overnight stay. 

6. Day 6- Game drive in Ruaha National Park

   • After breakfast at the lodge, enjoy a full day game drive with packed lunch provided. Get a nice view of Ruaha river valley and great animals sightings like Kudu, wildebeests, elephants, zebra, lions, hippos, hartebeest, impala, antelope, giraffe, buffalo and many of them.

   Overnight at Hilltop lodge. 

7. Day 7- Game drive & Walking Safari in Ruaha National Park

   • Another full day game drives with packed lunch boxes. Enjoy a half-day game drive, and after lunch during the late afternoon, you will do 3 hours walking tour. 

   Overnight at the lodge. 

8. Day 8- Game drive in Ruaha National Park

   • Another full day game drive with packed lunch boxes. You will spend the last day discovering and exploring Ruaha National Park.

   Overnight at the lodge. 

9. Day 9- Ruaha to Dar es Salaam

   • After breakfast, with your lunch boxes, drive back to Dar es Salaam. 8 hours of driving.

   • Arrive at night at your hotel.
