Description

Embark to Mahamuni Pagoda, Kuthodaw Pagoda and Shwe In Bin monastery in Mandalay. Head to Ava to visit Bagaya Monastery, and Maha Aung Mye Bon Zan monastery before going to Sagaing. See Thanboddhay Pagoda in Monyin, then travel to Bagan to explore various temples and monasteries such as Shwezigon and Dhamayangyi, and lastly, Yangon city, the last stop of the tour.

  • Day 1: Arrive at Mandalay Airport expand_more
    • Your Mandalay tour guide will pick you up from the airport and head to your hotel.

  • Day 2: Mandalay - Amarapura expand_more
    • Start your day by having breakfast at your hotel. 

    • Meet your Mandalay tour guide at 8 AM and visit the four meters high Buddha image seated Mahamuni Pagoda known as Phaya Gyi which weighs 6.5 tons.

    • Visit stone carving workshop and the Mandalay Palace which started in 1855 and completed in 1861 which was built by King Mindon when he shifted his palace from Amarapura. 

    • Have lunch at a restaurant.  

    • Visit gold leaf making workshops.

    • Head to the world's biggest book Kuthodaw Pagoda, a masterpiece of wood carving at Shwenandaw monastery constructed by teak in the 19th century by King Mindon,

    • Visit Atumashi Kyaung built by King Mindon in 1857 and Shwe In Bin monastery built in 1895.

    • Also, go to Mandalay Hill which is a landmark of Mandalay.

    • In the evening, continue to Amarapura and visit weaving workshops.

    • After that walk along U Bein wooden bridge in the evening and transfer to your lodging hotel.

  • Day 3: Ava - Sagaing expand_more
    • After breakfast at your hotel, drive to the jetty and take a boat to Ava, one of the ancient capital of Myanmar, and visit the Bagaya monastery built by 267 teak posts that are 9 feet in circumference and 60 feet in circumference height.

    • Then make your way to Maha Aung Mye Bon Zan Monastery, known as Menu Oak Kyaung built in 1822 by Nanmadaw Menu, a queen of King Bagyidaw.

    • From there, visit the 90 feet high Nan Myint Watch Tower built in the year 1822 by horse cart.

    • Then continue to Sagaing hill by car. 

    • Visit Kaung Mhu Daw Pagoda.

    • Head to Umin Thone Ze, also known as the thirty caves pagoda and Soon U Ponya Shin, a picturesque place. 

    • After that, visit the Jade Pagoda, the newly built pagoda constructed by Jade.

    • Head back to your hotel.

  • Day 4: Mandalay - Monywa - Bagan expand_more
    • You will be picked up by your Mandalay tour guide from the hotel at 7:30 AM.

    • Drive to Monywa which will take about three hours and head to Bawditahtaung where you can see the largest reclining Buddha image which is 300 ft in height.

    • Proceed to Monyin Thanboddhae Pagoda which is the only pagoda with a unique shape in the whole country and unlike most of the pagodas in Myanmar, the entrance is not guarded by Chinthes, the mythical Lions, but by statues of a pair of white elephants which are sacred and auspicious in Buddhist symbolism. 

    • After that, head to Kyaukka village which is famous for its lacquerware workshop and then, visit Shweguni Pagoda. 

    • Then drive for 3 hours to Bagan and check in to a hotel. 

  • Day 5: Bagan expand_more
    • Have breakfast at your hotel.

    • Drive to the ancient pagodas in Nyaung Oo and Old Bagan such as Shwezigon, Kyaukku Umin, Htilominlo, Ananda, Thatbyinnyu and Kadawpalin.

    • Have lunch at a restaurant. 

    • Head to your hotel for some rest.

    • In the afternoon, visit ancient temples around Old Bagan such as Dhamayangyi, Alodawpyae, Bu Pagoda and Shwesandaw Pagoda. 

    • Enjoy a fantastic sunset at one of the pagodas and head back to your hotel.

  • Day 6: Bagan expand_more
    • After having breakfast at your hotel, visit Nyaung U's bustling local markets to find ways of life.

    • Then visit 11th to 13th-century ancient temples in the Myinkaba area, Pwasaw village, and lacquerware workshop.

    • Drive to a restaurant to have lunch.

    • Visit the black bean paste (called Pone Yay Gyi in Myanmar language) workshop and palm sugar workshop to learn its process. 

    • In the afternoon, your Bagan tour guide will take you to some scenic places where you can take photos and walk around at one of the best pagodas.

    • In the evening watch a fantastic sunset.

  • Day 7: Bagan - Yangon expand_more
    • Drive to the airport and catch your flight to Yangon.

    • Upon arrival, your guide will take you to central Yangon to visit the Mahabandula garden with monuments from the independence era, city hall, Supreme Court and Immanuel Baptist Church.

    • Have lunch at a restaurant.

    • Visit the Post Office and the Minister's office where General Aung San was assassinated.

    • Then head to Chauk Htat Gyi reclining pagoda and the Shwedagon Pagoda in the afternoon. 

    • Return to your hotel and stay overnight in Yangon.

  • Day 8: Departure expand_more
    • Today your Yangon tour guide will transfer you to Yangon airport for your departure flight.
