- Travel to the Turtle Hatchery at Kosgoda, established in 1988 to protect Sri Lanka’s turtles from extinction.
- Explore the Galle Dutch Fort in the Bay of Galle, built by the Portuguese in 1588 before being extensively fortified by the Dutch in the mid-1600s.
- Visit the Galle Museum, an old Dutch and British church.
- Continue to Hikkaduwa and see the stilt fishermen sit on sticks while fishing traditionally.
- Ride a Balapitiya boat on Madu Ganga along the country’s southern coast within the Galle District of the Southern Province of Sri Lanka.
