Aswan High Dam, Unfinished Obelisk and Philae Temple Tour

  • Get picked up by your Aswan representative and tour guide from your hotel in Aswan to enjoy a day tour of the city's major highlights.

  • Start the tour with a visit to the High Dam, an engineering miracle built in 1960 that protects Egypt from the Nile's annual floods.

  • Proceed to the Unfinished Obelisk, which shows the techniques used by the ancient Egyptians to cut obelisks. This obelisk is rumoured to have belonged to Queen Hatshepsut, one of the rulers of the 18th Dynasty and the royal wife of King Tuthmosis II. The queen was the owner of her temple on the eastern bank of Luxor. It may also have belonged to Queen Nefertiti.

  • Continue to the majestic Philae Temple, which was built in honour of the Goddess Isis, the chief deity of the island.

  • Later, be transferred back to your hotel.
