Know before you go
  • A brainchild of Napolean Bonaparte, the modern Suez Canal is a manmade waterway which snakes its way across Egypt. As heard. However, the Egyptian Pharaoh Senusret III might have built an early canal that connected the Red Sea and the Nile River around 1850 B.C. The construction work of the canal was believed to have finished in 3rd century B.C. during the rule of the Ptolemaic Dynasty. As heard, many historical figures including Cleopatra have travelled on it.

We found that Hares on trip advisor and it had great reviews so we figured we would try it. I'm so very glad that we did. We spent in Cairo two days. And both these days were arranged perfectly by Mr. Hares! He provided us with a car with driver for whole days at reasonable price. Thanks to Hares during this short trip I managed to visit all the main sights of Cairo (the Pyramids of Giza, Egyptian Museum, the Citadel and night sound and light show) with high comfortable and safety. These people know what you really need and how to arrange your visit to make it pleasant and unforgettable! I highly recommend Mr. Hares to arrange your trip to Cairo

Our two week tour with Hares made our trip an outstanding experience. On an overall level - his knowledge of Egyptian culture and experience navigating the sites was immeasurable. On a detailed level his promptness, attention to detail and assuring our safety made our trip worry free - allowing us to take in the incredible sites we toured with him. His communication skills were excellent and his team included solid drivers and help with airport check ins. I would highly recommend Hares when looking to book a tour - he is determined to make sure your trip to Egypt is memorable.

This is my first visit to Egypt. I traveled with my family (2 Adults and 1 three year old daughter). I had planned for 10 days in Egypt and wanted to cover major attractions which I can manage with in that time frame. There were no itineraries readily available for my requirements and I had to tailor made my trip. I contacted various companies to arrange my tripi. Hares Sayed is the one who replied back to me promptly to gather my requirements and came up with the detailed plan. His prices were very competitive compared to other tour operating companies. From the very first email he was very helpful and friendly and came up with various suggestions according to my requirements and helped me decide the itinerary. Finally we agreed on with the plan of 4 nights in Sharm-el-Sheikh, 1 night in Cairo and 3 nights in Nile Cruise (From Aswan to Luxor) and 2 nights in Luoxor. I have opted for the international flight bookings and resort of my own choice in Sharm-el-Sheikh and handed over rest of the bookings to Hares. The way Hares handled the trip was awesome from the point where we were picked up by Mohamed in Sharm airport to Drop off at Luxor airport the overall arrangement was flawless. The Local guide at Sharm was fantastic and helped us complete our stay in memorable style. When we reached Cairo we were picked up by his partner Mustafa and took us to Egyptian museum, Pyramids and sound and light Shows and dropped us at the hotel. He was very knowledgeable, friendly & understanding the problems of the family with young kids .Next day we flew to Aswan where we were picked up by Awaiz/Aouis for the local sightseeing at Aswan and then checked in to the cruise. Awaiz guided us through the rest of the trip from ASWAN to LUXOR in the cruise and during our 2 day stay in our Hotel in Luxor. He was really fantastic and one of the very good Egyptologist. We booked hot air balloon show through him and it was wonderful experience seeing the Sun rise and Luxor City from the Sky. Finally we were picked up his agent in Luxor for drop off at Luxor airport and were helped in the airport to complete the Check-in Process. There were few let downs during the trip such as the food at the restaurant in the hotel where we stayed was not good in Cairo and A/C was not fully working & had few issues with the lock in the Nile cruise & there were no restaurant/shop in Aswan airport or nearby for the breakfast for which he cannot be blamed/responsible for. He also offered us various complementary rides (Nile Felucca Boat Ride, Horse Carriage Ride etc) along with the trip itinerary. Overall the trip was an unforgettable experience. I would really recommend Hares and his company for your visit to Egypt.

Hares is so good at what he does, that I have booked another tour with him for November 2015 with friends! He is both professional and knowledgeable about all aspects of Egyptology--both the mainstream history and the slightly esoteric. He is funny, entertaining, and utterly charming. He knows how to make sure you see hidden rooms the general public misses. I can wholeheartedly say he will give you 100% and make your visit to his wonderful country a memory to cherish. I felt not only safe in Egypt, but surprisingly felt a sense of deep inner peace as if I had finally come home. Thank you, Hares!

Hares was the best guide I have ever encountered in all my travels. He is not only extremely knowledgeable on ancient history, but can also give you the real scoop on insider info in the Egyptology world. Hares easily got us into places that most tourists might not have easy access to and I can safely say that everyone loved him. He even helps little old ladies cross highways! I plan on returning to Egypt next year and definitely Hares is the guide I want to show me more.

My friend and I visited Egypt late august 2013 during protests happening there. First and foremost Hares convinced us " how safe is egypt" and replied to our queries promptly. Now I am very glad we trusted Hares and had our lifetime experience in Egypt. Other than having sound knowledge of history he owns great traits as a guide which makes you feel you are not traveling with a guide but a friend. He got great sense of humor and common sense. In my whole 10 day trip I never ever felt like Hares was my guide but a companion :) . My experience keep tempting me to visit Hares and his team ..again :) I am sure I will.

My family and I had a fantastic vacation in Egypt. This was largely due to our very friendly and informative tour guide, Hares Hassaneen. Not only is he extremely knowledgable in Egyptian history, he is a great ambassador for Egyptian culture. Harres literally planned every aspect of our trip. He is very flexible, responsive and easy to work with (we planned everything via email before the trip). Without Hares' help, we would have been completely overwhelmed in Egypt and would have missed a lot of the interesting sites - even though we are very experienced travellers. Instead, we had a completely stress free vacation that the whole family enjoyed. We also got to see a side of Egypt that most tourists don't get a chance to see - including a lesson on how to haggle in the souks :-)

We visited Egypt in late March 2013 . Hares provided us the best tour ever and just the right amount and level of information to suit our wants and needs. He was always prompt, respectful and friendly, and accommodated every aspect of our tour interests from the beginning ( when we started arranging the tour ). We recommend the tour operator and tour guide services of Hares without hesitation. I consider him a friend now, and truly believe he is the best of the best. Hares / Egypt Guide 4 Tours made our trip to Egypt EXCEPTIONAL, his responds on our emails were so fast with the knowledgable answers of all our questions and we will never forget Egypt (or him) the rest of our lives. His passion and cultural/historical knowledge cannot be surpassed. Because he is so authentically engaged in what he does, it makes it far more than merely a "tour" but it becomes a transformational experience. We daydream of returning and having more time to share with him.
