Pick up from your hotel.
Drive south through the Pan-American Highway to the entrance of the National Park Cotopaxi. Observe the beautiful extinct volcanoes like the Pasochoa and Rumiñahui.
Stop to learn about the geology of the northern Andes, enjoy the beautiful views of green scenic cultivated areas.
Enter the National Park and start to recognize the moraines which were carried down during the last glaciations period of earth.
Drive to the Ribas Refuge at 14000 ft.
Hike to the refuge from 14000 ft. to 15000 ft.
Reach the refuge, take rest and then drive to Limpiopungo lake to observe Andean aquatic birds like Andean gull, speckled teal and others. Also see a unique paramo (tundra) landscape.
Drive out of the park and return to Quito.
