Full Day Quilotoa Lake Trekking Tour
Description
Spend a day exploring the Quilotoa Lake and its crater with a diameter of almost 9 km, situated in the Ecuadorian Andes. Learn how this lake and crater were formed by the collapse of this dacite volcano following a catastrophic VEI-6 eruption about 600 years ago, which produced pyroclastic flows and lahars that reached the Pacific Ocean and spread an airborne deposit of volcanic ash throughout the northern Andes.
