                Myanmar is a country in South East Asia  with it's long history dating back over many thousands years ago. During ancient India, Myanmar is known as "Byama". The earliest word of Myanmar came out in the area of Bagan, especially on Taungoo ni stone inscriptions. Human fossils can be found in po taung po ngwar locality in central Myanmar. There are many ancient cities that prove  that Myanmar is not an  ordinary country, the ancient cities are Sirichistra, Vissano, Hanlin and Tagung. 


         Myanmar had been under the British colony for over 100 years. It gained it's independence on January 4 in 1948 from the British rule. The country has seven states and regions. The seven regions are Yangon, Mandalay, Sagging, Mgwe, Ayerarwady, Bago and Taninthari. The seven states are Mon, Rakhine, shan, Kayar,Kayin, Chin and Kachin.


               Every region and state has it's own highlights, as Myanmar was colonized by British. The British had left over 189 colonial buildings, such as Churches, Bank buildings, Post Office,Hotels,Hospitals, Parks and High court.etc. These buildings can be found in Yangon. Shwedagon Pagoda( the landmark of the country) and other pagodas can be seen in Yangon. Yangon is the largest city, the main gate way and commercial city in Myanmar. Mandalay ( the last capital of the last Myanmar kingdom and the second largest city in which you can see Myanmar Kings' royal buildings and Pagodas. Kuthodaw Pagoda, known as the world' largest book ( memory of the world) is located in Mandalay, Sagging is famous for it's sagging's hill, The biggest ringing bell in the world is called the Mingun Pagodas , Nunary schools and Monastries. Shwe set daw Pagoda ( golden Buddha's footprint) is in Mgwe. Ayeyarwady is known as for Chaung Tha and Ngwe sung beaches. An ancient city called Sirichara ( a world heritage site) is situated in Bago. Over 800 small islands and beaches can be found in Tharithar. The golden rock called Kyakhtiyo pagoda  and the world's biggest reclining pagoda is in Mon state. Then, Rakhine is famous for it's ancient city and pagodas. Inle lake ( first biosphere reserve and ramser site) and hill station called Taungyi is in Inle lake. Kayar is known as for it's pagodas. Kayin has many natural caves that attract people, Chin has many waterfalls and snow capped mountains and Kachin is know for the highest snow capped mountain namely Mount Kakarborasi.

 

              In addition, Myanmar is rich in ethnic diversity, Burma is an ethnicity among national races. The word of Myanmar embraces  the national races of Kachin, Kayar,Kayin,Chin,Burma,Mon,Rakhine and Shan, besides there are over 100 minority ethnic people who live in Myanmar together in unity. Buddhism is the major region in Myanmar, but  other regions involves practices by other ethnic people. As Myanmar is in rich in ethnic diversity, every major and minor ethnic people have different cultures, traditions, custom.


              Myanmar people are very generous, hospital, kind, like to help people in need , like to share what they have with people and also like to donate what they have. They hold many festivals and ceremonies  such as water festivals in April, lighting festival in October and November, monthly Monks ceremonies. If you are fortunate enough, you can participate in their ceremonies. Myanmar also has many different type of foods which are very delicious and tasty such as Mohingar( small noddles) and many salads ( tea leafs, tamota salad) that will make you to come back again.


            To sum up, Myanmar is very beautiful and wonderful country to travel for visitors. Delicious foods, warm smile, hospital , natural beauty of the country, reasonable hotels prices awaits you. Do not miss an opportunity to visit such a great country.
