The best snorkeling adventure tours on the Southern Belize Barrier reef system

If snorkeling, your guide will take you on a tour of the abundant and varied coral and to meet the critters. Critters include spotted drum, juvenile and adult lobsters, cleaner shrimp, arrow crabs, snapper, barracuda and more varieties of reef fish than you can count. On the east and north side of the island coral mounds separated by sandy patches rise to about 5 feet from the surface. These mounds have a variety of coral types which are home to lobsters, barracuda, lizardfish, furry sea cucumbers, angel fish, parrot fish, spotted drums, southern rays, yellow rays and a myriad of reef fish. On the south side your guide will take you exploring mangrove habitats, where the juvenile critters like lobster, barracuda, lsnappers, Nassau grouper, angel fish, sea horse and lots and lots of colourful juvenile reef fish as well Manatees that like the mangrove lagoon around these Islands. Around mid day you’ll enjoy a Belize style picnic lunch or a barbecue and relax on the beach after getting your fill of the beauty of the underwater world of the Inner Cayes, mainly at Lark Caye. Then head back into the water for some exploration and you may even have time to see dolphins on our return as the sun begins to set.
