A nice place to feel the vibrancy of Xi'an! Local antique market-- not limited to antiques but includes everything!

Despite the scary name, ghost markets have nothing to do with ghosts. More accurately, it should be called the “black market” or “midnight market.”
In ancient China, wandering at night was not allowed. So people who want to trade something against the law, they choose to trade at night secretly.

Why call it a ghost market?

The first is due to trading hours. The second argument is that because of the variety of items in the ghost market, it is difficult to distinguish between true and false, so it is called a “ghost market”. The third argument is because the original trading place is relatively remote; the lights of the ghost city are flickering in the early morning, and the people inside are coming and going, as if the ghost is wandering from a distance. Now, people call this market Xicang Market. This China Antique Market has thousands of years of history and has many hidden treasures.

What you can find inside the market?

Everything, literally everything!

Xicang market is composed of four street lanes: Xicang East Lane, Xicang West Lane, Xicang South Lane and Xicang North Lane, each lane has its own characteristics. The east lane is mainly Muslim street snacks, the south lane is mainly clothes, hats, shoes and trousers, the west lane sells second-hand antiques, and the north lane is the paradise of flowers, birds, fish and insects.
