This is one of our highlights included in our tour.

One of the 7 New Wonders of the World since 2007 at 710m high above the sea level, atop the Corcovado Mountain in the heart of Tijuca Tropical and Endemic Rain Forest,  the statue of Christ the Redeemer was built in 1931 and it was projected by the Brazilian architect Mr Heitor da  Silva Costa. The statute was all built-in reinforced concrete and recovered with three layers of soapstone in mosaics. From the base up to the head the total length of the state is about 30 m and its pedestal holds a small Catholic chapel that was consecrated to Our Lady of Aparecida, the patroness of Brazil. Facing the famous Sugarloaf Mountain, the holy statue in art deco style designed by the Italian artist Carlos Oswald is blessing the citizens and welcoming the visitors who arrive in Rio de Janeiro. From the summit of Corcovado Mountain, the visitors can appreciate an amazing and breathtaking view of the city.
