A City tour of Addis Ababa will include a visit to these places:


1) National Museum of Ethiopia :  Also known as Ethiopian National Museum, this museum is famous for it's varied archaeological finds and fossilised remains of early hominids, the most famous of which is "Lucy," the partial skeleton of a specimen of Australopithecus afarensis.  Lucy is infact, a 3.2 million years early human species and thousands of visitors come to this museum to see this ancient fossil. There are varied collection of secular arts and crafts, traditional weapons, jewellery, utensils, clothing and musical instruments here and also displays of local natives lifestyles and cultures. 

2) Mercato :  A visit to Addis Ababd would be incomplete without visit to this large open-air market . Infact, it is one of the largest open air markets in Africa. Come here for local products, jewellery, souvenirs, traditional clothes , all spread across a vast area with thousands of local vendors selling their local wares. 

3) Mount Entoto : This is the highest peak on the Entoto Mountains and overlooks the city of Addis Ababa. Located at 3,200 meters above sea level, it offers splendid mountain scenery. 

4) St. George Church: Visit this ancient church believed to be the site  where the last emperor of Ethiopia, Haile Selassie I was coronated.
