Have you ever seen the tallest animal in the world, may be you have seen one or two in the zoos but am not talking about one or two in the zoos here. I am talking about groups in their natural habitats in the wild where movement is unlimited dramas are inevitable you get to watch them at a close proximity as possible. With a vast of flora and fauna Africa is the best place to watch these wonderful mammals.

Giraffe is a very beautiful and amazing animal which prefer to feed at the very top of the trees, with their long legs and neck which gives them the advantage to see the world in their own unique way. For the animal lover Nairobi Kenya is the best place for you to go and watch giraffe may be if you are lucky enough get a giraffe kiss at giraffe center only located about 15km from the capital. The Swahili name for giraffe is twiga mostly the name is use by the Swahili speaker in East Africa especially Kenya the home of Safari since around 1913 when Kenya was a hunters paradise. This mammals are found in the zoo National parks and reserves where they are protected, they are not dangerous compared to other wild animals like hippopotamus, Rhinos, Cape buffalos and lions, but don’t mistake their kindness for weakness when they are provoked or attacked they can be very deadly and dangerous, animal that have attacked giraffe have been kicked by their powerful legs leaving them to run for their lives or even drop dead, one kick of a giraffe is powerful enough to kill a lion.

These amazing mammals are the tallest animals in the world measuring about 6ft and can live up to 25 years in the wild. Their diet is the acacia trees mostly found in the African savannah. The females give birth while standing the baby fall 6ft down during birth. Giraffe have a unique sense which allows them to sense predators when they are nearby especially lions, the giraffe tongue is 15cm tall long enough to grab objects without any hustle an average giraffe can weigh about 1400kg.

Giraffe neck is 1.5 -1.8 cm at contains the same vertebrate as the human do, the dots of it coat acts as camouflage to protect it against predators. Both female and male have horns but males horns are taller than females they have more than one stomach they have 4 stomachs the extra stomachs assists in digesting food. Male giraffe always fight for love they fight with their neck which is known as necking the fight may be rough to an extend of one falling to the ground.
