The Toubkal region contains all the highest peaks in Morocco. The old massif of Toubkal 4167 m 14,000ft is the Highest peak in Morocco and North Africa, Located in the western part of the High Atlas, the ancient rock massive overlooking the Haouz plain in the north and the mountains Siroua and the Anti-Atlas to the south and is the most frequently visited area in the High Atlas mountains. It is only two hours from Marrakech by transport.
The summit of Toubkal can be tackled in just a couple of days. This is a stark but exceptionally striking region. The views from the summit of Toubkal provide a wonderful opportunity to see the way in which the Atlas Mountains from a spine across the length of Morocco, dividing a gleaming Atlantic coast to the north and west from the scorching vastness of Saharan Africa to the south and east.
