I am working as a tour guide for about 4 years since I graduated from the Faculty of History, and I would like to point out which sights of Moldova are considered by tourists as the best ones!
Alright, let get started!

  • Chisinau City Tour

Well, nothing new, but any meeting with the country is usually starting with the capital. Moldova is not the exception, as far as the only airport is in Chisinau. This city will excite you with its architectural diversity and slow pace of life, especially in its oldest part.

  • Cricoiva or Milestii Mici Wineries

Originally created as soviet mines, Cricova and Milestii Mici State Wineries are having the longest underground wine cellars in the world. The total length of their galleries is about 150 km. These wineries produce over 10 million bottles of quality wine!

  • Transnistria

Perhaps the most unique territory in Europe, Transnistria is eager to be considered as part of Russia. Since there is no way to join Russia, they prefer to declare themselves as an independent country, In the eyes of the world community - Transnistria as just an eastern region of Moldova. The history of this place is so complicated. Nevertheless, it is absolutely safe, attracting thousands of tourists every month. I really recommend visiting Transnistria.

  • Old Orhei

This is the most famous natural sight of the country. It is enough to mention - that Old Orhei is the next candidate to become a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Old Moldovan villages, amazing landscapes, cave monasteries, and so delicious food - make this place - to be on the top of Moldovan tours.

  • Soroca Town

Soroca - is one of the northern Moldovan towns, famous by 3 significant sights. The first one - is the so-called Candle of Gratitude. It is a 30 meters chapel situated on the top of the hill, where the Ukranian village can be seen on the opposite sight of the river. The second one - is a gorgeous Moldovan medieval fortress. The third one - is the so-called Gypsy Hill, a region of Soroca populated by Roma people. Some of their houses are exact copies of world-known buildings.

Only visiting these places - you can have a whole ”picture” of Moldova.

So, let's get started!
