Jinja is Uganda’s one of the biggest Cities  80Km from Kampala. It was the Industrial heart of the Country between the 1960s and 1970s.

The main attractions of the city include;

The source of the Nile.

This is the longest river in the world, which was discovered by the early European Explorer John Hannington Speke in 1958. You will take a boat that will take 2 hours to reach the source of the Nile, which enables you to see different bird species like the Kingfisher and Monitor Lizards. There is also an Option of Tubing on the Nile, which is a great Experience. When you reach the Source, you take photos and buy souvenirs to take back to your Country. It is an interesting Story to listen to about the European Explorer who discovered the Nile's Source.

Bujagali Falls

The Falls are located along the Nile River and are used for White Water Rafting that gives a memorable experience. The Dam was Constructed downstream, and the Water levels raised. You can explore the traditional and Mysterious Myths behind Bujagali Falls.

Owen Falls Dam

The Power Station was named the Nalubale Power station because of its strong relationship between the dam and Lake Victoria. The activities that can be done around the Nile are; Bird Watching, Picnic spots, Canoeing, Fishing, Kayaking, Water Rafting, Quad biking and Horse Back Riding.

Rippon Falls

The Falls are in the North of the Nile at the end of Lake Victoria. Sightseeing and Bird watching can be done.

Speke Monument

The Monument is located at Bukaaya in Jinja City. It was built in the Commemoration of John Hannington Speke, who discovered the Source of the Nile. He was the first European to reach Lake Victoria.

Itanda Falls

This is another stunning attraction situated 27Km from Jinja, flowing from the upside to joining the River at the end. Traditional dancing, Bird Watching, Rafting, Picnic, Kayaking, Games and Sports can be done around it.

Nile Discovery Resort

Situated on Kayunga road. The Scenery and the atmosphere makes it a unique kind to visit as an outdoor activity. The Resort is surrounded by famous places like Source of the Nile, Speke Monument, bars and Pubs nearby, Family activities, picnics and outdoor Sports.

Jinja Central Market

A tremendous tour calls for buying new things. The Central Market is a place to be recommended. The Market hosts thousands of vendors from clothing, Sports and traditional items, Fruits and vegetables, food and Spices, Art and Craft to buy.

Kyabazinga Royal Palace

Enjoy the visit to the Palace; compare and contrast the norms and culture of the different tribes in Uganda. As a Tourist, you explore the Lifestyle of Kings. A must-go place when you visit Jinja.

Eating and drinking is part and crucial for every cheerful trip. It is located on the main street in Jinja, where you will find the utmost satisfaction and delicious meals. Nalubale Rafting Base

This is the Best place to visit for Rafting. Rafting experiences with Friends and Family would make you fall in love with the activity. It is located at Kira road in Jinja. Enjoying the Monkeys running around you freely. Rafting and slide jumping into the Nile are also Fascinating.

Nile Reptile Park

Reptile Park is the perfect place for family tours. It is kind of a Zoo with a variety of animals and Reptiles. Crocodiles, Pythons, Turtles and Zebras. The Park is well maintained and provides good utmost, which makes the park pleasant.

Griffin Falls

The Last entry on recommended places visits in Jinja. It is one of the Gigantic Waterfalls that you would not miss out on when you visit Jinja. The Clean Forest is Worth Visiting. Ziplining would spice up your trip, Experiencing free walking animals like Monkeys and Picnicking.

Kakira Estate

This is the headquarter of a business group that is involved in running Multiple businesses. Things to see at the Estate are Kakira Power Station, Kakira Airport, Owned Social Service projects, Hospitals and Schools.

Mahatma Ghandi Monument

The monument was built in commemoration of Mahatma Ghandi, a world-famous apostle of peace and violence. He was murdered in 1948, and his ashes were split into portions to be Scattered in the main rivers of the World. The Monument was unveiled by the prime minister of India in 1979.

Samuka Island Retreat

This is a place to be for bird lovers with over 50 species of birds. It is just off the shores of Lake Victoria. It is a good place for honeymoon adventures and relaxation.

Ssezibwa Falls

Ssezibwa is 35Km from Kampala in the district of Mukono on your way to Jinja. The Spectacular waterfalls are believed to have been born by humans.

It is a Spiritual and Cultural Centre where natives flock for blessings, wealth and fortunes. There is a traditional healer who performs ceremonies for those seeking Children, Marriage or Successful business. The Waterfalls flow from the wetlands between Lake Victoria and Lake Kyoga, about 7 Metres high. The Sight is also good for bird watching.

It is reserved as a Buganda Heritage site due to its Myths behind the formation of River Ssezibwa. It is a Convenient place to experience the wonders of Nature. Camping, Nature walk, Community walk, Hiking, Canoeing and bird watching.

Mabira Forest

Mabira Forest is a rainforest Covering 300 square kilometres in Uganda, located in the Buikwe district between fugazi and Jinja. It has been protected as a forest reserve since 1932, a home for many endangered species like primates.

Nature Walks, Cycling, birding, wildlife viewing, Camping, Mountain biking, Ziplinning and Primate viewing can be done.
