APPEARANCE.

    - black bird with a distinct white chest and collarbigger than ordinary crows, with a stronger beak

shiny black feathers that sometimes look purple in sunlight.

BEHAVIOURS AND  LIFESTYLES 

       -Very intelligent and creative, as they are known to open bags, bottles, or even follow people for food.

      -They are omnivorous; they eat insects, grains, small animals, and human leftovers.

      -Often seen in pairs or small groups.

   -  Excellent mimics-they can copy other birds' calls and sometimes human calls.

HABITAT IN KENYA

   - Found in savannahs, town, villages, and farmlands.

   -  Common in  Nakuru, Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, and around national parks.

SYMBOLISM AND CULTURE

   -  In African culture, ravens are sometimes seen as messengers or wise birds.

   -  In many traditions, they symbolise intelligence, mystery, and survival.

FUN FACTS

  - They team up with vultures around carcasses.

  -  Known to drop hard food like nuts or bones on rocks to crack them open.
